Emboss Resist with DeNami Design

Hello DeNami Friends!

For this card I wanted to create an ebmoss resist background. I used the three filigree stamps from the new release and I think they are absolutely gorgeous for backgrounds!

To create the card I started off stamping the stamps with sticky ink on white card stock and embossed them with white embossing powder. I didn't pay much attention to where I placed the individual stamps. Instead I stamped them irregularly on the card stock.
Because I didn't just want to create a monochrome background, I decided to devide the cardstock into three parts. I used three rectangle dies, cutting two larger frames and one small rectangle.

Using a blending tool I colored the different pieces with different inks. When applying the ink you are able to see the embossed floral stamps more easily, contrasting with the ink.
To assemble the card I adhered a piece of dark grey card stock to a card base which was slightly larger than the largest frame. I also adhered the red frame on top and used fun foam to give the other two pieces a little bit of dimension.

Happy Insta Girls Schrott Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends and welcome back to another Happy Insta Girls Blog Hop! We are a group of crafty girls who met on Instagram and want to share our projects with you that we made under a specific topic.  Do you remember our last blog hop? We not only made a Christmas themed card but we also send along some ugly crafty stuff that we didn't need/use anymore. Well... now is the time to see what we made out of the received stuff!

But first of all, here is a picture of the scrap material that I received from Birka! I actually wasn't too unhappy with my material and I do like the patterened paper. But nonetheless it took me a long time to make my card and I still don't know whether I like it or not :)

But here is what I made. I used a piece of orange and red patterned paper and die cut two rectangles in different sizes with a cross-stitched rectangle die. From the stamps I received I liked the butterfly the most, so I stamped it on vellum with VersaMark ink and embossed them with gold satin pearl embossing powder which gives them a soft look.

Since I used the orange and red patterned paper I wanted to color in the butterflies with similar colors. I used my ZIG markers (52, 23) trying to let the colors fade to the lighter orange, mixing the red and yellow color on an acrylic block before applying it.
I also received these white pearl stickers. Some time ago I watched a YouTube video (unfortunately, I can't remember who did it) showing how to change them to your needs using Sharpies or any other permanent markers. So I went ahead and colored a few of them orange and red to match the colors that I've already used on my card.

To finish off my scrap card I adhered the butterflies with little glue dots only along the body of the butterfly. This way the wings are not attached and you can pop them up a little bit to give them a bit of dimension. I also used glue dots to attached the pearl stickers.

Thank you for stopping by and have fun hopping along. The next stop is Birka!

Here comes the teeth monster

Remember the cards with Taco the Panda? Well, here is another digi stamp from Jessa! I am normally not a huge fan of monsters but this one is just waaaaay to adorable! I printed it on Neenah Solar White card stock and colored him with Copics and Spectrum Noir markers (red monster: Copic R24, R29, R39 + Spectrum Noir OR1, OR2, OR3; blue monster: Spectrum Noir BT3, BT4, BT5, BT6, BT8 + FS8). I also applied a bit of Glossy Accents on his teeth.

I wanted to keep the card simply. For that reason I used rectangle dies by Avery Elle and MFT to cut a larger panel of red card stock. For the blue card I used blue mirror/foil card stock and I really think that dies (and also embossing folders) work amazing with foil card stock! I also had this sentiment patterned paper from Create A Smile and I thought it would be perfect since I didn't want to include an additional sentiment. I die cut two pieces from the paper and adhered it on the background panel at an angle. To finish off the card I adhered the monster to the sentiment panel using foam tape.

Fishing Penguin (Craftin Desert Divas)

Hi everyone, today I want to show you this fun shaker card that I created with a digi stamp from Craftin Desert Divas. I printed the penguin on Neenah Solar White card stock and also printed the fish a couple of times because I wanted to use them as shaker material. I colored the images in with Spectrum Noir markers (penguin: IG6, IG8, IG10 + Blender, IG1, IG2; beak/feet: OR1, OR2, OR3; fishing rod: TN7, TN; fish: LG2, LG3, LG6), except for the scarf that I colord with Copics (R24, R29, R39).

I used a small circle die to cut from a piece of patterned paper from the "Snow Dance Kit" from Create A Smile. I actually did some partial die cutting so I wouldn't get a whole circle. This way it looks like the penguin would be fishing at an ice hole. Currently you aren't able to buy the paper individually but I hope they will make it available at some point. I liked the snowflake patterned paper and used it as a background. Using a small circle die I cut out a circle from the background panel and adhered some acetate behind it.

Using fun foam I created the needed dimension for the shaker material. For the background of the fishing hole I used a scrap paper of mix media paper and applied Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.
To assemble the card I cut a slightly larger piece of the red-and-white striped patterend paper from the same kit by Create A Smile which was slightly larger than the snowflake piece. I adhered the distressed cardstock to it, placed the fish shaker material on top of it and glued the snowflake piece on top. I adhered some fish on the top left side of the fishing hole with some glue dots and the penguin to the right side using 3D foam squares. To finish off the card I applied some Glossy Accents to the beak and feed of the penguin.

Craftin Desert Divas
CDD- 1 4x6 stamp set

CDD- One digi stamp of choice

TCBJ - $25 gift card.

I made this cute honeycombe card for the linky party. I saw this adorable digi stamp with the bear dressed as a bee and I thought it would be perfect for this. After printing the bear on Neenah Solar White paper, I colored him in with Spectrum Noir marker (fur: EB1, EB2, GB8, costume: CT1, CT3, CT4 + IG6, IG8, ears: FS2, FS3; wings: IB1, IB2; honey dipper: TN7, TN8, EB5; hearts: Copic R24, R29, R39). I also applied some glossy accents to the wings and the honey on the spoon.

I created a honeycomb pattern and cut it with my cutting machine. For that I used light and dark yellow card stock. Using the drawing function of the cutting machine, I also drew the sentiment "Bee mine" with a black pencil.

You can download the cutting file for the honeycomb shaped card base here: Download (FCM, SVG)
I adhered the little hexagon pieces with liquid glue to the honeycomb shaped card base. Using 3D foam squares I also adhered the bear to the card.

Here are all the CDD products I used:

First day at school

Hello crafty friends, this time I want to show you a card that I made for the first day of school. Actually, it was for my fater. Because he can't work in his previous field anymore (which was construction worker) due to health issues he recently started a professional re-training as an IT system manager. For that reason I wanted to make this card and I thought it would be funny to make a card that you would usually give to a child on it's first day of school.

I started off die cutting a large circle from scrap paper to use as a mask because I wanted to stamp random numbers in a circle shaped area. I used two different blue colors and stamped them in the center of the card. I also stamped an owl from a Lawn Fawn set (which is kind of an inside joke because my father reminds us all of an owl... who knows why) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it in with Spectrum Noir markers (TN7, TN8, EB5; EB2, GB8, GB10; OR1, OR2).

I then went ahead and die cut the words "Alles Gute zum" (all the best for) from dark blue cardstock. I also die cut the little glasses from Create A Smile which had the perfect size for the owl. I used the rest of the blue cardstock to cut rectangles and stamp the individual letters that I needed for the word "Schulanfang" (first day of school) with VersaMark which I embossed with white embossing powder.
I assembled the card by adhering the glasses to the owl and appling a layer of Glossing Accents which would then kind of look like "real" glass. I attached the different rectangles and the owl with glue dots and the word die cuts with liquid glue.
