Under the sea

Hi everyone, I finally had enough time to use my new stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas and I just love all the images in contains. Just look at this cute turtle and sea horse! Well, I made two rather similar cards but for some reasons I had problems taking a good picture of the second one. The little purple octopus always had a strong blue tint to it...

But I started off stamping all the images on mix media paper using black water-proof ink and colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. For the background I wanted to go with Distress inks. For the ground I used Brushed Corduroy and blended it on mix media cardstock. I did the same for the water, using Chipped Sapphire and Salty Ocea, trying to blend them together as best as possible. Since the water seems darker the deeper you are, I chose to put the darker blue on the bottom of my panel. I also sprinkled some water on the background pieces which looks like little water bubbles.

To assemble my card I first went ahead and die cut the blue and brown pieces with my Avery Elle Pierced Rectangles and adhered them to a white note card. I adhered all the little images using foam tape and/or glue dots. To finish off the cards I wanted to use the cute sentiments of the set. For the first card I stamped "Sending Birthday Fishes" with a brown dye ink and "Swimming by to say HI" with blue dye ink on the second card.

Coffee? (DeNami Designs)

Hello DeNami Friends!

This time I want to show you a card featuring thie cute Coffee and Donut stamp by DeNami Designs. I started off stamping the cute image in the center of the card. I also used an alphabet set to stamp the sentiment "COFFEE?!" directly blow the image. Then I colored in the cup of coffee and the donut with alkohol markers and embelished the frosting of the donut with clear drying, shimmery glue.

To include a little bit more color I chose soldid circle stamps in different sizes and stamped them in three different green colors on my white panel. I also used a larger outline circle stamp and stamped it on the coffee and donut image so it looks like a frame.

To finish my card I die cut the white panel with a stitched recangle die and adhered it to a slightly larger green piece of cardstock. Everything was then adhered to a top-folded note card.

Birthday Cat (Craftin Desert Divas)

Hello everyone, today I am showing you this cute birthday card using different digi stamps from Craftin Desert Divas. I printed all files on white cardstock and began coloring the images in with Spectrum Noir markers (cake: TN7, TN8, EB5; goldfish bowl: IB2, IB3; fish: LG4, LG5, CG4 + Copic R24, R29, R39; cat: IG5, IG6, IG8 + Blender, IG1, IG2; hat: Copic R24, R29, R39 + Blender, IG1, IG3, balloons: Copic R24, R29, R39; LG4, LG5, CG4; PL3, PL5, LV3; Wink of Stella).

I cut a piece of Kraft cardstock the size of my card base, adhered it to the card and rounded the corners with a corner chomper (1/2"). I also adhered the images on top of the panel and applied Glossy Accents to the balloons. To give the goldfish bowl a more glassy touch, I cut out a piece of vellum, adhered it on top and applied Glossy Accents as well.

Since I printed all my files with a laser printer, I was able to foil my sentiment. I found this really nice lime green foil by Therm O Web which matched perfectly with the green balloon and the little fish. I cut the sentiment in place and adhered it to the top of the card.

Use Pink or Red Only (Simply Create Too Challenge Blog)

Hi everyone and welcome back to another challenge at the Simply Create Too Blog. This topic is "Pink and Red Only". Well, that was a tough one for me because I don't really like pink. But I started off blending Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks together using an ink blending tool. I also spritzed it with a little bit of water with Perfect Pearls "Pearl" mixed into it and dabbed it off after a few seconds. And I have to say I am really pleased with the outcome. On top of the distressed background I stamped the "you're amazing" sentiment from My Favorite Things with VersaMark and embossed it with Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder from WOW.

I also wante to include a critter and decided to go for the cute snail from Create A Smile. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock and colored it in with Spectrum Noir (EB2, GB8, GB10) and Copic (R24, R29, R39) markers. I also colored in the little heart of the snail's shell with a gold gel pen and applied a bit of Glossy Accents on top.

To assemble my card I die cut the distressed panel with a stitched rectangle die from Avery Elle and adhered it to a standard white notecard. I also adhered the little snail to the bottom right corner using foam tape.

I hope you liked my card and I'd be happy to see your creations on the blog.
