Simply Create Too Challenge Blog - Autumn Splendor
I was chosen to be on the Design Team for the Simply Create Too Challenge Blog and I am super happy and honored. This card is the first card that I designed as a member of the team and the challenge goes under the theme "Autumn Splendor".
For my card, I used a stamp set by Some Odd Girl that I have for a long time now but never used it. I finally had the chance since it was just perfect for this challenge. I created a shakercard with all the cute little leave stamps included in the set.
First
of all, I stamped the larger image with Archival Jet Black Ink on some
watercolor cardstock and colored it in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush
pens (face: 71, 64, 28; girl - hair: 65, 62; eyes: 44; pullover: 44, 4; mitten: 20, 24; boy - hair: 64, 66; eyes: 32, hat: 44, 4; pullover: 31, 32; leaves: mixture of Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold, Spiced Marmelade, Fired Brick, Ages Mahogany and Zig
23, 29, 30). Also, I stamped some extra leaves using Hero Arts Shadow
Ink (Butter Bar, Soft Cantaloupe) and Memento Ink (Lady Bug, Cottage
Ivy). I cut out everything using my cutting machine and also cut a
larger circle out of white cardstock serving as my front panel.
The
background of the shaker card was created with Distress Inks (Squeezed
Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmelade, Fired Brick) which I blended
thoroughly.
I didn't have a sentiment large enough to include on the card. For that reason, I cut out the sentiment "I fall for you. Everyday." out of black cardstock using my cutting machine again, cut a fish tail at the left side and adhered white cardstock behind it.
To put everything together, I used fun foam to create the necessary distance for the shaker material (the stamped leaves and marigold sequins) and adhered the distress background accordingly. Finally, I adhered the image and the banner on the front panel.
